iFJF AXV417WHP Pool Cleaner Pod Kit with Shoes — Hayward Navigator & Pool Vac Ultra
When your Hayward Navigator or Pool Vac Ultra cleaner stops climbing walls, gets stuck on the drain cover, or keeps tipping over, worn-out pods and shoes are almost always the cause. The pods are the "feet" of your pool cleaner — they control direction, traction, and the ability to climb vertical surfaces. The iFJF AXV417WHP Pod Kit includes everything you need to give your Hayward suction cleaner new life: left and right replacement pods plus four fresh pod shoes. Installation takes 10 minutes with a Phillips screwdriver, and you'll see the difference the first time it hits the wall.
Key Features
Complete Pod Replacement Set
One kit, everything included: 1 left pod, 1 right pod, and 4 pod shoes. No hunting for separate part numbers or buying pieces individually. The pods are labeled L and R so there's no confusion during installation.
Restores Wall-Climbing Ability
The rubber shoes on the pods provide the traction your cleaner needs to climb walls and clean the waterline. When shoes wear smooth, the cleaner loses grip and either slides down or avoids walls entirely. New shoes mean a cleaner that climbs to the tile line again.
OEM-Spec Design
Engineered to match the Hayward AXV417WHP specifications. The mounting points, shoe slots, and directional flaps are identical to the original parts. No modification, no adapters, no zip ties.
Durable Wear Materials
The pod bodies are molded from chemical-resistant ABS plastic that stands up to chlorine, salt, and UV exposure. The rubber shoes are made from a wear-resistant compound that provides traction without marring pool surfaces.

Installation
Remove the cleaner from the pool and place it upside down on a towel or soft surface.
Locate the pods on the bottom of the cleaner — they're the two large rectangular assemblies on either side.
Remove the retaining screws (Phillips head) that hold each pod to the cleaner body.
Slide the old pods off. Snap the shoes off the old pods if you're reusing the pods and only replacing shoes.
If replacing pods: install new shoes onto the new pods (they snap into place). Attach the pods to the cleaner body with the original screws. Ensure the directional flap faces the rear.
Return the cleaner to the pool and observe it through a full cycle. It should climb walls, navigate steps, and cover the entire pool.
Frequently Asked Questions
How do I know if my pods need replacing?
Signs of worn pods: the cleaner won't climb walls, keeps tipping onto its side, gets stuck on the main drain, or moves in a tight circle instead of covering the pool. Inspect the shoes — if the tread pattern is worn smooth or the rubber is cracking, it's time for a replacement.
Does this kit include the turbine or wings?
No. This kit contains the pods and shoes only. If your cleaner is also losing suction or moving slowly, you may need to replace the turbine, wings, or flaps. Those parts are available separately.
How often should I replace the pods and shoes?
Under normal use (daily 3-4 hour cleaning cycle), pod shoes typically last 12-18 months. The pod bodies last longer — usually 2-3 years — unless they crack from impact or UV exposure. If you're replacing shoes more than once a year, consider reducing daily run time or checking for sharp edges in the pool.
Will these fit a Hayward AquaNaut?
No. The AquaNaut uses a different pod design. This kit is specifically for the Navigator and Pool Vac Ultra models. Verify your cleaner model before ordering.
