Description
Product Overview
The iFJF 1806 Performer 600 CFM carburetor delivers the ideal balance of street performance and daily driveability for small block and mild big block V8 engines. Featuring electric choke, air valve secondaries, and non-EGR calibration, this 4-barrel square bore carburetor is pre-calibrated for a wide range of engines from 305 to 402 cubic inches. Whether you're upgrading from a worn-out factory carb or building a fresh engine, the 1806 delivers out-of-the-box performance.
Key Features
-
600 CFM — Universal Sweet Spot — The most versatile CFM rating for street V8s. Works well on everything from mild 305s to warmed-up 400s without over-carbureting.
-
Air Valve Secondary — The secondary air valve opens progressively based on airflow demand. No bog, no hesitation — just smooth, seamless power delivery.
-
Electric Choke (12V) — Automatic choke with adjustable housing. Fast warm-up, consistent cold starts in any season.
-
Non-EGR Design — No exhaust gas recirculation provisions. Perfect for pre-emissions vehicles, off-road applications, or engines with EGR delete modifications.
-
Two-Piece Aluminum Construction — Fewer gasket surfaces than three-piece designs. Resists warping and fuel leaks better than pot metal castings.
-
Pre-Calibrated & Flow Tested — Each carburetor is wet-flow tested on a calibration engine before packaging. Ready to run with minimal tuning.

Why iFJF Performer 1806?
The 600 CFM Performer has been the go-to street performance carburetor for decades. Our 1806 builds on that legacy with modern manufacturing precision. The air valve secondary design is inherently smoother than mechanical secondaries for street driving — you don't get the sudden "hit" that can break tires loose unexpectedly on wet pavement. Combined with the 12V electric choke, this is the set-it-and-forget-it carburetor that starts reliably and drives smoothly from cold mornings to hot summer afternoons.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Will this fit my 350 Chevy with an Edelbrock Performer intake?
A: Yes. The 1806 has a standard square bore flange that matches the Edelbrock Performer, Performer RPM, and most other aftermarket intakes. Direct bolt-on — no adapter needed.
Q: What's air valve secondary vs. vacuum secondary?
A: Air valve secondaries use a spring-loaded flap above the secondary throttle plates. As airflow increases, the valve opens progressively — providing smoother engagement than mechanical secondaries and more precise control than pure vacuum secondaries.
Q: Will this work with my TH350 automatic transmission?
A: Yes. The throttle lever includes provisions for GM TH350, TH400, 700R4, and 200-4R kickdown cables. Ford AOD and C4/C6 linkages are also supported with the correct bracket.
Q: Does non-EGR mean it won't pass emissions?
A: Non-EGR carburetors are intended for pre-emissions vehicles (generally pre-1975), off-road vehicles, or vehicles where the EGR system has been removed. Not for use on emissions-controlled vehicles where EGR is required by law.
Q: Can I use this on a marine engine?
A: No. Marine engines require USCG-approved carburetors with specific safety features (sealed overflow, J-tube venting). Use only marine-rated carburetors on boats.
Q: What timing should I run with this carburetor?
A: For most small block Chevy engines, start with 10-12° initial timing and 34-36° total mechanical advance by 3,000 RPM. Adjust vacuum advance to provide 10-12° additional under light cruise.
