Installation Notes
- Bolt-on replacement — no modifications required
- Float level is pre-set from factory. If you notice fuel leaking from the fuel bowl vent after installation, the float may need slight adjustment — simply remove the top cover and bend the float tab slightly downward to correct
- Use fresh gaskets (included) for best seal
- Recommended: replace fuel filter and check fuel line condition during installation
FAQ
Q: Is this an Autolite 1100 or 1101?
A: This carburetor is compatible with both Autolite 1100 and 1101 applications. The 1100 and 1101 are nearly identical 1-barrel carbs — the 1101 typically has a slightly larger venturi for the 200ci engine.
Q: Does this fit a 289 V8?
A: No — this is for the inline-6 cylinder engines (144/170/200). 289 V8 Mustangs use the Autolite 2100 2-barrel or 4100 4-barrel carburetors.
Q: Is it pre-tuned out of the box?
A: Yes — idle mixture and float level are pre-set at the factory. Minor fine-tuning may be needed based on your altitude and engine condition.
