Description
Product Overview
This iFJF EGR Valve Block Off Plate provides a precision-machined solution for permanently sealing the EGR port on 1988-1995 GM small-block V8 and 4.3L V6 engines. CNC-cut from a solid billet of 6061-T6 aluminum, it replaces the factory EGR valve with a rigid, leak-free seal — purpose-built for off-road and racing applications where the EGR system has been removed.
Key Features
-
CNC-Machined 6061-T6 Billet Aluminum — Aircraft-grade aluminum won't warp, crack, or deform under heat cycling. At 0.375" thick, it's over 3x thicker than typical stamped steel universal plates.
-
Precision Fit for GM Small-Block & 4.3L V6 — Bolt pattern matches the GM EGR valve flange exactly. No grinding, filing, or adapter plates needed.
-
Leak-Free Seal — CNC-machined flat to tight tolerances for a perfect mating surface. Pair with a standard OEM EGR mounting gasket (GM #10108435, sold separately) for a vacuum-tight seal.
-
Corrosion-Resistant — Natural 6061-T6 aluminum finish. Won't rust like steel block-off plates. Compatible with paint or anodizing if desired.
-
GMT400 Platform Coverage — Fits 1988-1995 C/K 1500/2500/3500 pickups, Blazer, Tahoe, Yukon, Suburban, plus Camaro and Caprice passenger cars.

Why Choose iFJF?
Thin stamped plates warp. Cast plates crack. Our block-off plates are CNC-machined from a solid billet of 6061-T6 — the same aluminum grade used in aerospace structural components. Every plate is inspected for flatness before shipping. If you're building a serious off-road truck, trail rig, or race vehicle, don't trust your intake manifold seal to a $5 universal plate.
⚠️ Warning: This device is intended for off-road / race track use only. Removing or disabling emission control equipment on vehicles operated on public roads violates federal law. The purchaser assumes full responsibility for compliance with applicable regulations.
Installation Notes
- Remove the factory EGR valve from the intake manifold (typically 2 bolts).
- Clean the intake manifold mounting surface thoroughly. Remove all old gasket material — a razor scraper works best.
- Place a new OEM EGR mounting gasket on the manifold flange. We recommend GM part #10108435 or equivalent.
- Position the block-off plate over the gasket and install the factory bolts. Torque to 18-22 ft-lbs (M8 bolts).
-
Important: To prevent the ECU from triggering a Check Engine Light, pair this plate with an EGR delete simulator or ECU tune (sold separately). This plate seals the mechanical port only — it does not address the electrical side.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Do I need a gasket with this block-off plate?
A: Yes. We strongly recommend using a new OEM EGR mounting gasket between the plate and the intake manifold for a proper seal. The gasket is not included — order GM part #10108435 or equivalent separately.
Q: Will this alone keep my Check Engine Light off?
A: No. A block-off plate only seals the mechanical EGR port. The ECU will still detect the missing EGR valve electrically and trigger codes 32/53. You'll need an EGR delete simulator (wiring harness plug-in) or an ECU tune to disable the EGR monitor.
Q: Does this fit 1996-2000 Vortec 5.7L (L31) engines?
A: Yes. The EGR valve bolt pattern was unchanged from 1988 through 2000 on GM small-block applications, including the Vortec L31 found in 1996-2000 GMT400 trucks, vans, and SUVs.
Q: What's the difference between this and a universal block-off plate?
A: Universal plates are thin stamped steel with slotted holes designed to fit multiple bolt patterns. They're prone to warping and vacuum leaks. Our plate is CNC-machined specifically for the GM EGR flange bolt pattern and is over 3x thicker at 0.375".
Q: Does the aluminum expand differently than the cast iron intake manifold?
A: 6061-T6 aluminum has a similar thermal expansion rate to cast aluminum intakes. For the less common cast iron intakes, the OEM EGR gasket provides enough compliance to absorb the minor difference. We've had zero reported gasket failures in the field.
Q: Can I use this on a 454 (7.4L) big block?
A: No. The GM big block 7.4L uses a different EGR valve bolt pattern. This plate is designed exclusively for the GM small-block / 4.3L V6 EGR flange pattern.
Q: Is this CARB-legal for on-road use in California?
A: No. This product is not CARB-compliant and is not legal for on-road use in any state. It is intended exclusively for off-road, racing, and competition vehicles that are never operated on public highways.
Q: What's your return policy?
A: 30-day money-back guarantee. If the plate doesn't fit your engine's EGR flange or you're not satisfied for any reason, return it for a full refund. Contact our support team first — we can usually resolve fitment questions within one business day.
