- Reconnect the kill switch wire, reinstall covers, and test for spark.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: How do I test if my coil is bad?
A: Remove the spark plug, reconnect it to the plug wire, ground the plug body against the cylinder, and pull the starter. No visible blue spark = bad coil (test with a known-good plug first).
Q: Will this fit my Super XL Auto?
A: Yes. The Super XL, XL12, SXL, Super XL Auto, and all Big Red/Blue variants use the same ignition coil design.
Q: Do I need to set the air gap?
A: The coil comes pre-gapped. We recommend verifying with a standard business card (approx. 0.010-0.014 inch) between the coil and flywheel magnets.
Q: Is this OEM or aftermarket?
A: This is a high-quality aftermarket replacement manufactured to OEM specifications. It replaces 94605 and A94605S.
