- Open the rear tailgate / swing gate on your Jeep Wrangler or Gladiator
- Locate the factory 3rd brake light assembly above the spare tire mount
- Remove factory mounting screws using Torx or Phillips screwdriver
- Disconnect factory wiring harness connector from back of brake light
