Step 6: Reconnect Everything

Work in reverse order of disassembly:

  1. Fuel line: Thread the fitting into the carburetor inlet by hand, then tighten with the 9/16" wrench. A small dab of fuel-rated thread sealant on the fitting threads prevents seeping — do NOT use Teflon tape (pieces can break off and clog the needle valve)
  2. Vacuum advance line: Push the rubber hose onto the distributor vacuum port on the carburetor
  3. Throttle linkage: Snap the ball-joint socket onto the throttle lever stud. Verify it moves freely through the full range
  4. Throttle return spring: Hook it back on — the spring should pull the throttle firmly closed when you release it
  5. Choke cable: Slide the cable through the clamp on the choke lever. Leave a small amount of slack so the choke plate can close fully when cold. Tighten the clamp screw

Step 7: Replace the Inline Fuel Filter
