Description
Product Overview
The iFJF EGR Delete Simulator provides a clean plug-and-play solution for 1986-1995 Ford trucks and SUVs when the EGR system has been removed for off-road applications. Simply connect it to your factory EGR wiring harness — it sends the correct closed-status signal to your ECU, preventing false Check Engine Light (CEL) triggers while keeping the diagnostic system active for real engine problems.
Key Features
-
Plug-and-Play Installation — OEM locking connector plugs directly into the factory EGR valve wiring harness. No cutting, splicing, or ECU tuning required. Installs in under 5 minutes.
-
Keeps CEL Functional for Real Problems — Unlike cheap resistor mods, this simulator only suppresses the EGR-specific code (33/332). Your Check Engine Light stays available for all other diagnostic trouble codes — you won't miss a real engine problem.
-
OEM-Grade Locking Connector — Factory-style locking tab ensures a secure, vibration-resistant connection even on rough terrain. No zip-tie-only solutions that work loose.
-
Wide Compatibility — Covers the entire 1986-1995 Ford F-Series, Bronco, and Mustang lineup: 2.8L V6, 4.9L I6, 5.0L V8, 5.8L V8, and 7.5L V8 engines.
-
Built for Off-Road Durability — Sealed and potted housing withstands mud, water, engine heat, and vibration. Battle-tested in desert racing and trail rig applications.

Why Choose iFJF?
We manufacture our own EGR simulators with automotive-grade components — not re-badged generic electronics. Every unit is potted and sealed against moisture and vibration. If you're building a trail rig, race truck, or off-road Bronco, this is the same part our shop customers trust. Our Arizona-based support team knows these trucks inside and out.
⚠️ Warning: This device is intended for off-road / race track use only. Federal law prohibits removal or disabling of any emission control device on emission-applicable vehicles. The purchaser bears full responsibility for end-use decisions and all consequential liabilities.
Installation Instructions
- Disconnect the wiring harness from your EGR valve position sensor. Clean the connector if needed (dielectric grease inside is normal — do not remove it).
- Firmly insert the EGR Delete Simulator into the harness until the locking tab clicks into place.
- Secure the simulator and harness to a solid mounting point using electrical tape or a zip tie. This prevents vibration-induced connection issues on rough terrain.
- Start the vehicle. The CEL should remain off. If illuminated, re-check the connection and re-seat the simulator.
Complete Your EGR Delete Setup
Need the block-off plate too? Our EGR Delete Simulator & Block Off Plate Kit bundles this simulator with a CNC billet aluminum plate that physically seals the EGR port — the complete mechanical + electronic solution in one box.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Will this trigger a Check Engine Light?
A: No. The simulator sends the correct closed-position signal to the ECU. You may see stored code 33/332 during a scan, but these codes will NOT illuminate the CEL unless other unrelated codes are present.
Q: Does this work on a California-emissions truck?
A: This device is designed for off-road and racing applications only. It is not CARB-compliant and is not legal for on-road use in any state. Check your local regulations before installation.
Q: Will this pass emissions inspection?
A: No. A vehicle with the EGR system physically removed will fail visual and functional emissions testing. This product is intended for vehicles that are never driven on public roads.
Q: Does this work on the 7.5L (460) engine?
A: Yes. The EGR position sensor connector is the same across all 1986-1995 Ford truck gas engines — 2.8L V6, 4.9L I6, 5.0L V8, 5.8L V8, and 7.5L V8.
Q: What's the difference between this simulator and a block-off plate?
A: A block-off plate physically seals the EGR port on the intake manifold. This simulator plugs into the wiring harness to prevent the ECU from detecting the missing EGR valve. Most off-road builds use both: the plate for the mechanical side and the simulator for the electrical side.
Q: How long does installation take?
A: Under 5 minutes. It's a single plug-in connection — no tools required beyond something to secure the harness (zip tie or tape).
Q: Do I need an ECU tune or programmer?
A: No. This is 100% plug-and-play. The factory ECU accepts the simulator's signal as if the EGR valve were present and closed. No tuning or programming required.
Q: What if it doesn't keep my CEL off?
A: We offer a 30-day money-back guarantee. Most issues are connector-related — contact our support team first and we'll help troubleshoot. If it still doesn't work, return it for a full refund.
