Installation

Safety first: Disconnect the existing battery negative terminal before beginning installation.
- Mount the Bluetooth control module in a clean, dry location near the battery — away from direct engine heat and moisture.
- Connect the included heavy-gauge negative cable from the battery's negative terminal to the isolator input terminal.
- Connect the output terminal to the vehicle's chassis ground or the existing negative cable.
- Secure all connections with the included terminal covers. Double-check for tight, clean connections.
- Reconnect the battery positive terminal if disconnected. Download the app and pair with the module (pairing button is on the module face).
- Test the system: use the app to disconnect and reconnect the battery. Verify the vehicle starts when connected and is completely dead when disconnected.
Frequently Asked Questions
Will this drain my battery when the car is off?
The Bluetooth module draws less than 5mA in standby — roughly the same as a modern car's clock or alarm system. Over a month of storage, it will use less than 3.6 amp-hours from a typical 50-100Ah battery. For seasonal storage (3+ months), we recommend a battery maintainer regardless.
Can I use this with a winch or high-current accessories?
The isolator is rated for 200 amps continuous and 500 amps surge. Most 12V winches draw 200-400 amps at full load. For heavy winching, the surge rating covers the initial pull — but sustained winching above 200 amps may overheat the relay. For dedicated winch use, consider a manual high-amp disconnect.
What happens if my phone dies and I can't use Bluetooth?
The physical override button on the control module allows manual connection/disconnection without a phone. The LED indicator confirms the current state. This is also useful if you need to disconnect the battery before storing your phone.
Does this work on a 24V system?
No, this is a 12V DC system only. Using it on a 24V system (common in heavy trucks and some marine applications) will damage the control module. Verify your electrical system voltage before ordering.
Is the Bluetooth connection secure?
Yes. The Bluetooth 4.0 connection uses AES-128 encryption. Once paired, only your authorized device can control the isolator. The module does not broadcast its presence when in normal operating mode, and it requires physical access to the pairing button to authorize a new device.
