Installation Guide
- Drain engine oil completely. Remove factory canister filter housing and bypass valve assembly.
- Clean engine block mounting surface thoroughly — remove all old gasket material and oil residue.
- Apply included thread sealant to adapter bolts. Position gasket on adapter.
- Bolt adapter to engine block. Torque to 18-22 ft-lbs in a crisscross pattern.
- Pre-fill new spin-on filter with fresh oil. Apply thin film of oil to filter gasket.
- Spin filter onto adapter — hand-tighten, then additional 3/4 turn. Do NOT use a filter wrench to tighten.
- Refill engine with correct oil capacity (typically 4-5 quarts for SBC, 5-6 for BBC).
