Description
Product Overview
The iFJF Aluminum Alloy Hood Spacer Riser Kit lifts your hood by 6mm to create a ventilation gap that dramatically improves engine bay airflow. Ideal for turbocharged vehicles where under-hood heat can degrade performance and component longevity. Precision CNC-machined from 6061-T6 aluminum with a durable blue anodized finish.
Key Features
-
Improves Engine Bay Cooling: 6mm lift creates a rear hood gap that allows hot air to escape, reducing under-hood temperatures by up to 30°F.
-
Turbo Performance Enhancement: Lower intake air temperatures mean denser air charge and better combustion efficiency for turbocharged engines.
-
CNC-Machined 6061-T6 Aluminum: Lightweight yet incredibly strong — won't crack, warp, or rust like steel alternatives.
-
Blue Anodized Finish: Corrosion-resistant coating with a sleek motorsport aesthetic that stands out in any engine bay.
-
Universal Fit: Compatible with most vehicles using standard M6 hood bolts. Includes stainless steel extended bolts and washers.

Installation Guide
- Open the hood and identify the hood hinge mounting bolts (typically 2-4 bolts per side).
- Remove one bolt at a time — do NOT remove all bolts simultaneously.
- Insert the spacer between the hood and hinge, thread the extended bolt through.
- Hand-tighten all bolts first, then torque to factory spec once all spacers are in place.
- Close hood gently to verify alignment and clearance.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Will this cause water to get into my engine bay?
A: The 6mm gap is at the rear of the hood where water ingress is minimal during normal driving. Most users report no issues. For heavy rain, the gap is small enough that water deflection is adequate.
Q: Does this affect hood latch security?
A: No. The spacers go between the hood and hinges at the rear. The front latch mechanism is unaffected and remains fully secure.
Q: Will this fit my car?
A: Most vehicles with standard M6 hood hinge bolts are compatible. Measure your bolt diameter before ordering. M6 = 6mm bolt diameter.
Q: Does this actually lower engine temps?
A: Yes — independent testing shows 15-30°F reduction in under-hood temperatures with a 6mm rear hood lift. Results vary by vehicle and driving conditions.
Q: Is this legal for street use?
A: Hood spacers are legal in most jurisdictions. However, check local regulations if you have concerns about pedestrian safety standards.
