  2. LUBE THE O-RINGS: Apply a thin film of clean diesel or silicone grease to both O-rings. Dry O-rings can pinch, tear, or roll during installation — all of which cause air leaks and hard-start conditions.
  3. TORQUE TO SPEC: If you're using the OEM plastic cap, torque to 18 ft-lbs (25 N·m) — no more. If you're using an iFJF billet aluminum cap, the same torque spec applies, but the aluminum cap won't crack if you go slightly over.
