🛠️ Installation Tips
PRIME THE FILTER: Fill the new filter with clean diesel before installing — this prevents the CP4.2 pump from running dry on first start.
LUBE THE O-RINGS: Apply a thin film of clean diesel or silicone grease to both O-rings before installation. Dry O-rings can roll, pinch, or tear — causing hard starts and air in the fuel system.
TORQUE TO SPEC: Hand-tighten, then torque to 18 ft-lbs (25 N·m). The billet cap threads engage smoothly — if you feel any resistance, back off and realign.
BLEED THE SYSTEM: After installation, cycle the key to "ON" (without starting) 3–5 times to prime the fuel system. The CP4.2 is self-priming — you'll hear the in-tank pump cycle.

Q: Will the black anodizing wear off over time?
A: No. Type II (sulfuric acid) anodizing converts the aluminum surface into a hard aluminum oxide layer — it's not a coating or paint that can flake off. It resists diesel fuel, engine degreasers, road salt, and UV exposure. The only thing that will mar it is a slipped wrench — so use a properly sized 32mm socket.
Q: Can I reuse the billet cap with future filter changes?
